Expedition
Route
Starting in Himachal Pradesh, "the land of eternal snow peaks", near the Indo-Pakistan border, from the village of Dharamsala and flying in direction of Uttaranchal, consisting of the Garhwal and Kumaon districts, state of the "Char Dham" where dedicated Hindu pilgrims make the very lengthy tour of the four ancient temples that mark the spiritual sources of four sacred rivers, Yamuna (Yamunotri) Ganges (Gangotri) Mandakini (Kedharnath) and Alaknanda (Badrinath). East to the Valley of Flowers and Hem Kund 4300m (the holy pilgrimage for Sikh religion), then, onto the most remote and unpopulated section of Western Nepal ( 10 day un-supported section) until Pokhara, and from there, Katmandu. If conditions are favorable, we will push until Pelling, Sikkim, India, a Buddhist hill station perched on a narrow ridge with incredible views of Khangchendzonga (3rd highest mountain in the world).
